| Bio: | I am a teacher, a writer, a poet, a bitch, a sweetheart, a lover, a daughter, a singer, a guitarist, a friend, a wife, a counsellor, a scholar, a human being, and I happen to have MS. I like to think I own two cats, (they really own me, duh!). Chekov and The Grey Mouser as well as Steve and I share a two bedroom house in lovely Iowa. Steve was just too shy to ask me out until 16 years later and when he finally did it changed my life. He says that the first time he saw me in high school, he was thinking "oh that girl is cute" as my friends walked in the room, but when I came in he thought "That is the girl I will marry someday." Sure enough, he just did. Me? I spend my weekends doing Mustang Club of America events, Road Americ events, driving my mini around town and yelling veiled obscinities at strangers, SCCA Road rallies, writing and the occasional Civil War Reenactment. I read all the time. I am currently reading a lot of mystery/crime stuff. - you know good serial killer stuff. I read Frey's A million little pieces nearly a year and a half ago. Not sure what I think about this scandal. Right now I am working on Christopher Moore's A Dirty Job which thows me into fits of laughter nearly always. I am waiting to start Dostoyevsky's "The Idiot" until I have more time. Then again, I have lived with idiots and how different can it really be? Steve went out to get me meds yesterday when I was so sick. He also brought me books. Yes, I am a major book junkie. Being well read is no crime. I wish everyone was lucky enough to read like us. Those that don't have lost something. Could be their humanity, maybe just some basic intelligence, you know what I mean, the stuff that separates us from the animals. Steve and I also went to The University of Northern Iowa together. He has a History BA, I have an Education BA, a Russian BA and an English BA. Pretty scarey, isn't it? I am taking one class this summer to be able to teach Russian Language in high school. I want to get a special needs endorsement. I am good with the special needs kids. Sometimes I think I am the only one some days that reaches out to them and tells them that everything is fine and they are not dumb. Teachers can be so cruel. I would also like to get a reading endorsement and maybe my coaching certification. Who knew? School to me is not just something you do, everyday is learning and you can never know too much. The world is a big and wonderful place and there is a lot of stuff to know out there. Education is something to continue throughout life. It is a journey, not a burden. Just so there is no confusion as to who I am etc, I am very Liberal. I have an abusive ex husband who raped me as well as strangled me and held me against a wall while beating me and yes, I have had an abortion because of that. If you cannot overlook that, it is your problem. I was diagnosed with MS 15 years ago. I went blind in my right eye over a period of 6 weeks and then my vision gradually came back. The same recently happened. Life goes on and I got on with it. I have a few theories on it, ask me if you want. I am not shy about MS. The more I share the more it could help someone else. Yes, I know I need a revamp of my bio. At some point I will achieve this. If ya don't dig it then hit the back key. *Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, fine wine in the other, body thoroughly used up. totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" *Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take.
